Rebecca is a versatile performer whose past on stage engagements include Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Marion (The Music Man), and Cunegonde (Candide). This past season's highlights included her role in a new opera, The Rough-Face Girl, and a solo appearance with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra at Jordan Hall, singing "Into the West" from the film score to The Lord of The Rings.
An active recitalist, Ms. Hains also gave solo recitals last season at the First Parish of Lexington concert series and the Salem Arts Festival. Upcoming engagements include the Queen of the Night (Magic Flute, MetroWest Opera) and Mozart's Exsultate, Jubilate with the Concord Orchestra.
An alumna of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Rebecca frequently appears as a soloist in regional musical theater and opera concerts, including the concert series of Longwood Opera, Mass Theatrica, the New England Gilbert and Sullivan Society, New England Light Opera, and Worcester Opera Works. She has given several well-received performances on stage and in recital at the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England.
Rebecca's CD, The Gilbert & Sullivan Soprano Arias, is now available for purchase online from Amazon.com, CD Baby, and iTunes. Copies may also be purchased directly from the artist by arrangement through email (to orders [at] rebeccahains.com). Upon request, CDs purchased from the artist can be inscribed free of charge. For more information please see her Rebecca Hains web site. Clips of various performances can be heard on her web site.
Her sister Sarah and I were at Rebecca's last performance in Buxton, England. What a treat it was to see and hear her sing in that old and well established Opera House.

Lucie, One question, why didn't you post this sooner? Reading about your daughter and her career was so interesting. Was she the one whose wedding pictures you showed? She has sung all around me, Nashua, Lexington, etc. I hope to get to hear her soon. Do you have her site on your blog, so I can follow that way? You have every right to be so proud.
Hi Barbara - no this is not the daughter wwho just married in May. She is our youngest whereas Rebecca is our oldest. Actually she is a college professor and does this also ;o)
Her web site was just updated so I will add it to my list on the blog. thank you for suggesting that!
Lucie, I saw her sing the "Lord of the Rings" with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra! I had no idea it was your daughter. My daughter is the adminstrative assistant for the Longwood. What a small world! Hopefully I'll see her again soon...
Hi Heather,
Yes, it is indeed a small world isn't it. It looks like she will be receiving many more invitations. Good for her and we are really happy for her.
