Happy Mothers Day 2010

Me and my Mother Rosanna Levesque LeBlanc

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers around the world.  In a most particular way, I remember my Mother who was a woman of deep conviction, warm love and strength for her family.  She was the best!

I have no doubt she watches over us and enjoys her great grandchild she never met, our little Theo!

We love you Mama and as I did when a child in school, I cherish all of the Mother's Days spent with you when I would sing all of the Mother's Day songs we were taught in school for this wonderful day.

I would highly recommend the latest history of the Grand Derangement of the Acadians: John M. Faragher, A GREAT AND NOBLE SCHEME: THE TRAGIC STORY OF THE EXPULSION OF THE FRENCH ACADIANS FROM THEIR AMERICAN HOMELAND, Norton, 2005. This, in my view, is the best documented and most objective history in print of our sad Acadian past. It is also now available in paperback. While not easy reading, it gives a very balanced picture of this historic event, without the preaching or emotional atmosphere of many of the previous, less scholarly accounts. You may have already posted this work on one of your websites, but I did not locate it. I think that every Acadian descendant should have it on his/her shelf. (No, I'm not getting any "kickback" from sales!)

Father Richard MacDonough (Acadian on mother's side: Gaudet)

Hi Father MacDounough..glad to meet another Acadian "cousin"... I have many Gaudet in my lineage.

Thank you for your post however, "A Great & Noble Scheme" by John Farragher: the documentation it contains is not entirely correct. So unfortunately it is not really the best book someone would want to purchase and bank on it being 100% accurate as it is not.

I had a book review done of Johnny's book when it came out and he has read it.

Sorry to disappoint you with my assessment of this work...
