Some time ago a long lost cousin who found me through my Family Tree Maker site sent me the above photo hoping that I could identify the four people in it.
Actually, they are four LeBlanc brothers. I think the fellow to the far right is my uncle Albert LeBlanc but I cannot be positive.
There were five brothers living when this photo was taken. Two had died in the early 1900s and one is missing from this photo.
The five living brothers were Joseph Edmond born 1888, Frederick (Fred) born 1889, Albert born 1891, my father George born 1896 and Henri born 1901.
George is my father but of course, I did not know him when he was this young and I didn't know any of my LeBlanc uncles (most unfortunately!).
If anyone can identify this photo please let me know. It will mean we are related.
These four LeBlanc brothers were the children of my grandparents Damien S. LeBlanc and OdilleDoiron.

What is the basis for you thinking they are four brothers, Lucie? Judging just by the apparent ages of the people in the photograph, I would say the man on the right was considerably older than the three boys to the left of him, whilst they all appear to be very close in age. Looking at the dates of birth of the five living brothers, I really can't see age gaps of five or ten years in the photo. They look more like the three oldest brothers, born within the space of three years and an older, male relative or friend.
Hi Caroline..when sent the photo, I was told they were brothers. Two brothers died who were not in this photo. They were born in 1894 and 1898. My father was in between the two of them.
The oldest brother was 8 years older than my father. There is one brother missing from the photo.
Since my grandfather married twice, the other possibility is that the man to the right could have been a half brother from the first marriage. By age 17 my father's parents had both died and he once told me his older siblings raised him. Whoever was raising the, they were well dressed - prior to that they were very poor while with their father who had been sick for sometime.
I believe my father is to the left and that next is his brother Albert then is brother Henri/Henry who was the youngest.
That is why I have posted this.. I have found relatives through my blog and I'm hoping this might happen again.
Too bad I don't know when the photo was taken.
Thanks for your interest.
Lucie

Hi.. that would be impossible for Edgar to be their brother if he was born in 1901. Their father Sylvain died in 1890 and Sylvain's wife would have been beyond age to give birth.

Hi Cousins Lucie and Roland,
My name is Christine Balboni and I am a great-granddaughter of Phocas LeBlanc through his daughter Domithilde (Matilda) LeBlanc McGrady and my mother Catherine McGrady Balboni. I am still new to researching our family history. I am proud of our Acadian heritage and often wonder about the lives of our ancestors.
I do have a few photos of two of Phocas/Antoinette's daughters--my grandmother and her sister Celeste as younger women, and am happy to share them. It is my dream some day to walk where our ancestors lived.
I can be reached at cbalboni0@gmail.com
